District Governor 2011-2012 Suresh Pahwa



Suresh Pahwa is a member of Austin University Area Rotary Club.  Suresh served as President, CEO and Chairman at INTERA Incorporated prior to his retirement in 2008.  

 

Suresh Pahwa was born and raised in India, and he earned his B.Tech. (Hons) degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.  He then moved to Gainesville, Florida for graduate studies and completed his M.E. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Florida. Upon graduation, Suresh relocated to Houston to work for Intera as an engineering consultant.  After that, he worked in a number of management and technical positions in the environmental and petroleum industries and has served on a number of corporate and non-profit boards.   Suresh’s technical expertise is in the areas of radioactive waste management and petroleum engineering.  He has developed computer models used for design and permitting of radioactive waste disposal repositories.  He has also served on a number of national and international review panels in the area of radioactive waste management.

 

Suresh has served on various committees in his Rotary Club and at the district level.  Suresh and his wife, Brigitte, have hosted a number of GSE team members in their home.  Brigitte is a Paul Harris Fellow, and Suresh is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.  Suresh believes in helping the less fortunate around the world through international service projects and improving international understanding through GSE and other Rotary programs. 

 

Suresh and Brigitte have been married for 36 years and have two children.
