Born at the end of World War II, the last of four girls in Devine, Texas, Ruth Allison, District Governor Designee was raised on the family farm as a country girl.
She raised her children in Denton, Texas where she spent 20 years. Ruth moved to Travis County in 1989.
Ruth has a BA degree in Political Science from the University of Texas, San Antonio and graduate work at the University of North Texas.
Ruth joined Oak Hill Rotary in 1991 and with that club served in many capacities including Club President. She was awarded “Rotarian of the Year” and was named into District 5870 Roll of Fame.
She is currently a member of the Rotary Club of South Austin. She has served as Club President and is currently serving as Sergeant at Arms as well as District 5870 Extension Chair. She is also honored by DG E Ronney Reynolds asking her to serve next year at that position. Ruth also volunteered to be her club’s secretary next Rotary year.
Ruth is married to fellow Rotarian Max Blankenzee a member of the Lakeway/Lake Travis Club. Together they have seven children, 9 brilliant grandchildren and one beautiful great granddaughter.
