District 5870 Rotary

The due date for the Camper Registration is just a few days away! Club Coordinators please get the registrations for your primary and alternate campers in as soon as possible! We are at 93 campers and we have space for 7 more if you want to send them. We are still striving for 100% participation from all of the clubs. That means financial support, sending campers, coming to cook and serve, donations - something - from all of the clubs. If you want to support RYLA and not sure how best to do that, please contact Kirk or Brenda now.

It took a little longer than planned for some of you to get your sponsorship form into me. I want to be sure that does not happen when we get to the camper registration! I must have the camper registration forms and the money no later than April 1. If I can help in any way, please do not hesitate to call, email or fax me.

Dear Club President,

Please consult with your club today and express your club’s sponsorship of RYLA by completing the attached RYLA Sponsorship Form and returning it with your payment, no later than February 15, 2008.

We know that your club believes in the vision of developing leadership and life skills in high school sophomores and juniors across our District. We ask that you express your support of this vision by making your commitment to support RYLA this Rotary year. RYLA sponsorships sustain RYLA youth leadership training each year and enable the program to grow. The planning committee seeks to continue RYLA as a financially self-supporting program that does not tap into other District funds. We need and request your club’s help to achieve this objective.

District 5870 is dedicated to sponsoring the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp each summer. As you know, our District’s vision is to develop leadership skills in selected high school age youth throughout our district. The week-long Camp RYLA (June 29 through July 4, 2008) is where, working together, we can all achieve this vision.

Your club’s support of Camp RYLA plays an important role in the vital work of achieving our vision. There are many different ways of supporting Camp RYLA and one of the most important is appointing a club RYLA Coordinator.

By November 19, 2007, please provide the name and complete contact information for your Coordinator. Send the information to RYLA Administrator Brenda Osbon at BrendaOsbon1@aol.com, mail it to her at 401 Panther Creek Road, Driftwood, TX 78619 or fax it to her at 512-858-1971. More detailed information will be provided to your Coordinator when that person is designated.

Enclosed you will find the Club Sponsorship Form and Meal Selection Form. Many clubs have already made the decision on what their level of support will be. We would appreciate receiving your coordinator’s contact information and your sponsorship information as soon as possible.
